The Southeast Missouri State women's gymnastics team, ranked 29th nationally, had little trouble winning Friday night's Wisconsin-LaCrosse Invitational.
Competing against five Division III programs, the Redhawks tallied a score of 190.850.
Host Wisconsin-LaCrosse was second (182.050), followed by Wisconsin-Oshkosh (177.925), Winona State (177.350), Wisconsin-Stout (176.425) and Wisconsin-Eau Claire (172.950).
The Redhawks won every event, including taking the top two spots in the all-around. Sophomore Sandra Blake was first (38.675) and freshman Rikara Turner second (37.825).
Blake also won vault (9.800), beam (9.700) and floor (9.700), tying with freshman teammate Jena Nguyen on floor.
Southeast freshmen Amber Garlotte and Bryanna Wong tied for first on bars (9.550).
Also for the Redhawks, Turner was second on vault (9.675) and third on bars (9.525); Nguyen was third on beam (9.625); and Wong and sophomore Alison Ezell tied for third on floor (9.550).
Football signing party
Southeast head football coach Tony Samuel and his staff will host a letter of intent signing day party for the public at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Port Cape Girardeau.
Wednesday is the first day football recruits can sign letters of intent and the complete list of the 2007 Southeast signees will be available. Samuel will tell about the new recruits and show video footage of the new players. Admission is free.
