~ SOUTHEAst's basketball games tonight against SIU-Edwardsville will not be played due to bad weather
Severe winter weather in the St. Louis area has forced the postponement of today's scheduled Southeast Missouri State basketball games at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
Southeast's men and women both were supposed to face future Ohio Valley Conference member SIUE, which joins the league for basketball next season.
The men's game has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Monday in Edwardsville, Ill. The women's contest has not been rescheduled.
Both Southeast squads resume OVC play Saturday at Eastern Illinois.
Southeast's men (5-17, 4-8) have lost six straight. They are eighth in the 10-team OVC with six conference games left. The top eight finishers make the OVC tournament.
Southeast's women (7-14, 3-8), tied for seventh in the OVC, have lost two straight and three of four.
Southeast teams both face road-heavy schedules to end the regular season, with six of their final eight games away from the Show Me Center.
The annual ESPNU BracketBusters men's basketball matchups were announced Monday night and Southeast will host Sacramento State on Feb. 19. Start time has not been set.
Sacramento State (5-16, 2-8) is last in the nine-team Big Sky Conference.
All 10 OVC squads are involved in the BracketBusters, with Austin Peay receiving the only televised game. The Govs play at Fairfield.
Other pairings involving OVC teams are Eastern Illinois at Toledo, Eastern Kentucky at Western Carolina, Jacksonville State at Eastern Michigan, Morehead State at Indiana State, Evansville at Murray State, Delaware State at Tennessee State, Gardner-Webb at Tennessee Tech and Bradley at Tennessee-Martin.
Southeast is 0-5 all-time in BracketBuster games. The Redhawks lost at Miami (Ohio) last season.
