~ The Southeast soccer team fell 2-1

The Tennessee-Martin women's soccer team scored the lone goal of the second half as the Skyhawks defeated Southeast Missouri State 2-1 on Sunday in Martin, Tenn.

The loss kept Southeast winless in OVC action. The Redhawks fell to 0-1-2 in conference play and 5-5-2 overall.

UTM, which held a 15-4 edge in shots, improved to 6-5-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the OVC.

The teams traded first-half goals as UTM's Brooke Robertson scored 7 minutes into the game, while Southeast answered with a goal by Ashley Runion in the 19th minute.

Southeast managed just one more shot the remainder of the game as Ali Bauer's shot in the 62nd minute was the Redhawks' only other shot on goal beside Runion's.

Stephanie Nilica scored off one of the Skyhawks' 11 shots of the second half when she deposited a free kick from about 35 yards out in the 82nd minute.

Southeast goalkeeper Kristen Starkey finished with seven saves. Aubrey Buehler made one save for UTM.

Southeast returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday when Jacksonville State visits Houck Stadium.
