The Red Devils put up crooked numbers in three of the final four innings as they beat New Madrid County Central 11-1 in six innings.

Andy Hendrix drilled a homer, while Jerrod Steger smacked a pair of doubles in the win.

Russell Gardner picked up the win on the mound, improving to 5-0 this season.

TRACK SEMO South meet

Scott City's boys earned a third-place finish, while Chaffee placed fourth, Kelly fifth and Oran seventh in the SEMO South Conference boys team standings.

The Rams took home first place in both the 3,200-meter relay and the 1,600 relay.

Collin Dannenmueller led the Red Devils with a first-place finish in the 400 and a second in the high jump.

On the girls side, Scott City grabbed second place, followed by Kelly in third, Chaffee in fifth and Oran in seventh.

The Rams notched first-place finishes in the 1,600 relay and 3,200 relay.

Scott City's Stephanie Essner captured first in the 400 and 200, and finished second in the 100 hurdles.

Tara Johnson led the way for Kelly, winning the 1,600 and 3,200. Londyn Backfisch placed second in the 100, 200 and 400, while capturing first in the high jump for the Hawks.

Leopold sweeps

The Wildcats improved to 13-1 by sweeping a doubleheader from host Meadow Heights, 6-0 in five innings and 16-0 in four innings.

Leopold, which has won 13 straight games, banged out a total of 28 hits while holding the Panthers to one hit in each game.

Whitney Vandeven fired a one-hitter in the five-inning opener, striking out six. Kylie Stoverink and Casey Bucher both had two of Leopold's nine hits.

Allison Bueter threw a one-hitter in the four-inning nightcap. Bucher had three of Leopold's 19 hits, including a triple and double.

Desiree Arnzen also had three hits, while Whitney Vandeven, Emily Vandeven, Abby Landewee and Cassie Seiler all added two hits.
