CHAFFEE -- Chaffee concluded its season with a 43-14 loss to Valle of Ste. Genevieve Thursday night in Class 1A, District 1 football action.

The Red Devils, who fell to 3-7 on the season and 0-3 in district play, drew first blood, but saw the Warriors heal quickly.

Travis Hanback hit Jeremy Lynn on a 75-yard touchdown pass to opening the game's scoring, but Valle (4-5, 1-2) responded with two first-quarter touchdowns for a 13-7 lead.

The Warriors added two more second-quarter touchdowns for a 26-7 halftime lead. A field goal upped Valle's lead to 29-6 by the start of the fourth quarter.

Shawn Powderly scored on a 6-yard pass to close out the Red Devil scoring in the fourth quarter.

Hanback completed 18 of 33 passes for 262 yards. In addition to two touchdown passes, he threw three interceptions.

J.P. Glueck, playing with a deep thigh bruise suffered against St. Vincent, was held to 38 yards on 11 carries.
