CHAFFEE -- -- Three Chaffee pitchers teamed up to hurl a no-hitter Tuesday as the Red Devils defeated Woodland 6-0 in high school baseball action.

Tommy Stidham started the hitless feat with four innings of work and was followed by Matt Stroup, two innings, and G.P. Glueck.

Stidham finished with four strikeouts while Stroup added two. Each pitcher issued one walk. The defense played error free and turned two double plays.

"Once again, we played old Chaffee baseball -- all pitching and defense, which is a good thing because we're not swinging the bats well," said coach Brian Horrell, whose team is now 13-4.

The Red Devils had just five hits off losing pitcher Danny Lincoln, who struck out two and walked one.

Glueck had a double for the Red Devils and Rusty Duncan had a triple.

Chaffee broke a scoreless deadlock with a run in the third, added four runs in the fourth and a run in the sixth.

"Woodland is a very good, solid ballclub," said Horrell. "It's a good thing we were on top of our pitching and defense."

JACKSON -- Jackson moved above the .500 mark at 7-6 as the Indians held off Poplar Bluff.
