St. Louis Rams' officials are once again busy touring prospective summer training camp sites and Southeast Missouri State University athletic director Richard McDuffie said that they made a second visit to Cape Girardeau on Monday.
The Rams' delegation that met with McDuffie and John Mehner, president of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce, included Steve Ortmayer, vice-president of operations; John Oswald, director of operations; and Rich Brooks, head coach.
The group toured facilities at Southeast Missouri State and also met with President Kala M. Stroup.
Previously, Rams' officials had toured Cape Girardeau several weeks ago.
"I think both of the visits have gone well and the Rams seem to be impressed with our facilities and the community of Cape Girardeau," said McDuffie.
Southeast is one of several campus sites still under consideration for the Rams' summer training camp, which will run from July 13 through Aug. 17.
Other colleges having been under consideration are the University of Missouri, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Southern Illinois-Carbondale, Western Illinois, Eastern Illinois and Maryville University in St. Louis.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has reported that Rams' officials would ideally like to hold the summer camp at Maryville University, even though that school's dorms are under renovation and the players would likely have to be housed in a motel.
McDuffie said he expects the Rams to decide on a camp location within the next couple of weeks.
