SCOTT CITY -- Once Scott City doused Senath-Hornersville's hot shooting, the Rams coasted to a 62-43 victory Saturday night in the championship game of the inaugural I-55 Classic.

Senath, led by Tim Blankenship's four first-quarter 3-pointers, led by as many as 12 in the opening period and carried a 24-14 margin into the second quarter.

But Scott City would outscore Senath 30-5 in the second and third quarters. Leading 29-28 at halftime, the Rams limited the visitors to no field goals and one point in the third quarter, while Scott City totaled 15 points and took a 44-29 advantage into the final quarter.

Senath scored its first field goal since halftime with 3 minutes 59 seconds remaining in the contest.

"After halftime we cranked up our defensive intensity," said Scott City coach Derek McCord. "We took away their second shots by boxing out."

Scott City's Jon Beck tallied a game-high 26 points and Ryan Weatherspoon contributed 12 points.

Blankenship finished with 16 points for Senath.

In the third-place game, four Indians scored in double figures as Hayti won 73-57 over South Pemiscot.

Hayti's Lee Marvin Hamilton totaled 18 points, Timmy Bunch had 16 and Ortiz Banks and Aaron Gurley each added 10. Greg Mathis' 18 points paced South Pemiscot.

The game was tied 25-25 at halftime and Hayti led just 45-41 entering the third quarter.

In the consolation final, St. Vincent outscored North Pemiscot in ech quarter and pulled out to a 78-61 win.

St. Vincent's Ryan Prost scored a game-high 26 points, Kyle Eggers had 16 and Todd Meyer contributed 13. The Indians improved to 2-1.

Barry Chance's 16 points paced North Pemiscot.
