After the official start to their season on Sunday, the Three Rivers College men’s basketball team will starts its 2023-24 season with a jamboree as they head south this weekend.

The Raiders will play in the Mullen/Mitchell Dallas JUCO Blowout in Fort Worth, Texas, where they’ll have three games on Saturday morning.

Three Rivers will take on Holmes Community College, Lamar State College-Port Arthur and Pearl River Community College before coming back to Poplar Bluff for next week’s jamboree against Arkansas State Mid-South and We Are United Prep.

“The Jamboree is Dallas will help us see where we are at and what we need to work on,” TRC head coach Brian Bess said. “We are ready to play an opponent other than ourselves.”

The Raiders are then right back on the road when they play three games on Oct. 15 at the SIU Student Recreation Center in Carbondale, Illinois, for the Midwest JUCO Jamboree. In Carbondale, TRC will take on Shawnee College (noon), Wabash Valley (4 p.m,) and Lake Land (6 p.m.).

Three Rivers welcomed 11 true freshmen to Poplar Bluff this offseason as those players represent seven states and two countries.

TRC opens the regular season Nov. 3 at Libla.
