Southeast Missouri State University football coach Tim Billings hopes two special events his program is putting on this week will be well attended.

The first annual Indian Insider Reverse Raffle, set for Saturday at the AC Brase Arena Building, will raise money for Southeast football.

Prior to that, the Southeast coaching staff will host its third annual Women's Football Clinic Thursday at the Show Me Center.

"Both these events should be a lot of fun," Billings said.

Saturday's Indian Insider Reverse Raffle will begin at 7:30 p.m. with an open bar, hors d'oeuvres and a dance band, Infinity, from Nashville, Tenn.

Tickets, limited to 295, are $100 per person or $150 per couple. There are still tickets available and corporate sponsorships are available. A corporate sponsorship is $1,000 and includes five tickets to the reverse raffle and advertising.

Door prizes will be given out throughout the evening and there will also be cash prizes of $500, $1,000 and $3,500. For tickets or additional information, contact Susie Dodd at 335-3025 or Laurel Adkisson at 334-1095.

"We feel that this will be a great opportunity to get excited about the upcoming football season and will provide us some much needed financial help," Billings said. "We have some great prizes, including the grand prize of $3,500 in cash, and it should be a fun filled evening."

Thursday's Women's Football Clinic will begin at 8 p.m., following the university's annual Booster Club Barbecue that begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Show Me Center.

The free clinic will feature refreshments, door prizes and beginner and advanced sessions. Southeast assistant coach Tony Joe White is heading up the clinic and he can be reached at 986-6165 for more information.

"It's gone over real well the last two years. We had more than 100 women last year and hopefully we'll have an even bigger turnout this year," White said. "We've got some really neat door prizes and plenty of refreshments. Everybody always has a great time."
