GREENVILLE — The Greenville Bears had three players score in double figures as they defeated defending Class 1 state champion South Iron 62-50 Friday night.

Easton Evans (14 points) led the Bears (14-1), while Trey Porter (13) and Talan McDaniel (11) joined him in double figures.

Carter Irions had a big first quarter scoring seven points to spark Greenville.

The Bears head to Neelyville Tuesday.

Malden 52, Bloomfield 48

At Bloomfield, the visiting Green Wave improved to 11-5 with a hard-fought win.

“We have to go into every game playing like it’s going to be our last game,” said Malden head coach Mike Kilgore. “It was closer than we wanted it to be, but a win is a win. We understand that teams want to beat us every night. We still have a lot of the season left, so every game will be important from here on out.”

Marcus Burton led Malden with 18 point, while Quamareous Farmer added 14.

Kayden Craft (17 points) and Hunter Moore (11) paced Bloomfield.

Doniphan 73, Naylor 41

At Naylor, the Dons improved to 12-4 and 3-1 in the Ozark Foothills Conference as they won a battle of Ripley County schools.

Max Owen (22 points) and Kam Baeton (15) led Doniphan's offense.

Naylor (4-12, 0-4) was paced by Damian Thilman with 16 points and seven rebounds.

Puxico 71, Scott City 52

At Puxico, the host Indians improved to 12-3 with a strong win against Scott City.

“We had a very good team win,” Puxico coach Bryant Fernetti said.

Cole Barnfield (17 points) and Trevor Fortner (13) paced the Indians' offense.

Neelyville 59, Holcomb 53

At Neelyville, the host Tigers won a close one against Holcomb.

“Holcomb is a tough opponent,” Neelyville coach Brad Burdin said. “They always play with grit and you can expect them to never lay down. Tonight we knew we had to keep them from getting momentum for us to pull out the win. Fortunately for us, we were able to hold on to the lead as they continued to knock down shots.”

Preston Goodnight (15 points), Casen Stephens (14) and Kye Wolfram (12) led the Neelyville offense.

Westwood Baptist 70, Rivers of Life 16

The Eagles dominated a win against Rivers of Life Christian.

“Everyone got to get some important minutes and accomplished what we should have,” Westwood Baptist coach Josh Hawley said.

Nathan Collier and Anden Moore each scored 12 points to lead the Eagles.

Ellington 76, Lesterville 46

At Ellington, the Whippets rolled past Reynolds County rival Lesterville on homecoming.

Four Ellington players scored double digits, led by Conor Miller (26 points) and Brock Moray (16).

Ellington (5-8) is in action Tuesday when it hosts Clearwater to open the Black River League tournament.

Girls

Westwood Baptist 52, Rivers of Life 45

The Lady Eagles got 14 points from Chloe Dodd and 12 from Sydney Hawley to beat Rivers of Life Christian.

“Girls played a hard fought game and came out with an important conference win,” said Westwood Baptist coach Josh Hawley.
