The Cape Central Tigers defeated the Ste. Genevieve Dragons 5-1 on Tuesday at Cape Central High School.
The offense of Central was led by senior Cade Emmenderfer who went 1-3 with two RBIs, his one hit was a home run that set the Tigers’ single-season record with eight. On the mound for Central, sophomore Travis Klipfel got the win with six strikeouts, two walks, and one earned run. Sophomore Connor Davidson came in for relief in the seventh.
The first Tiger run came off a sac fly by freshman Hayden Bowers, the second off a single by freshman Caden Chenowith, the third and fourth off the Emmenderfer bomb, and the final off another homer, this time from senior Carter Crosnoe.
Cape Central will travel to Chaffee at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
__St. Vincent 2, Perryville 0__
The St. Vincent Indians defeated the Perryville Pirates 2-0 on Tuesday at Perryville High School.
The offense of St. Vincent was led by Trevor Moonier who went 3-4 with one RBI, three Indians pitched and combined for seven strikeouts and two walks.
The offense of the Pirates was led by L Hoehn who went 1-1 with a walk, senior Dane Lauck and junior Caleb Triller combined on the mound for 10 strikeouts and four walks.
St. Vincent scored the first run off a Moonier single that scored senior Jacob Hennemann and the second off a junior Christian Schaaf bunt that scored senior Kaden Kassel.
St. Vincent will begin play in the Class 2 District 3 tournament against this weekend against Bloomfield at host site Chaffee while Perryville gets Jackson at home at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
__Delta 17, Gideon 1__
The Delta Bobcats defeated the Gideon Bulldogs 17-1 on Tuesday at Delta High School.
The offense of Delta was led by junior Coleton Deckard who went 2-6 with five RBIs and two runs scored. Freshman Rylin Huffman pitched the full seven innings and finished with seven strikeouts, two walks, and one earned run.
The Bobcats scored one run in the first, six in the third, two in the fifth, and eight in the seventh during the all-our routing of Gideon.
Delta will go to Risco at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
__Meadow Heights 19, Clearwater 0__
The Meadow Heights Panthers defeated the Clearwater Tigers 19-0 on Tuesday at Clearwater High School.
The offense of Meadow Heights was led by Ransom Grindstaff who went 2-6 with five RBIs and two runs scored. On the mound for the Panthers, Braeden Hayes got the win with two strikeouts and one walk.
Meadow Heights scored in six of the seven innings and scored a monsoon of runs in the seventh with 10.
The Panthers will enter the Class 2 District 3 tournament this weekend against Advance at host site Chaffee.
__Oran 9, Woodland 2__
The Oran Eagles defeated the Woodland Cardinal 9-2 on Tuesday at Woodland High School.
The offense of Oran was led by senior Nicholas Massey who went 3-4 with a walk and three RBIs, sophomore Parker Bryant got the win on the mound and finished with six strikeouts and 2 walks.
The offense of Woodland was led by S Abernathy who went 2-3 with one RBI, three pitchers for the Cardinals took the mound and combined for five strikeouts and 11 walks.
Oran will host and begin play in the Class 1 District 2 tournament this weekend while Woodland will begin play in the Class 3 District 2 tournament this weekend at host site Charleston.
__Scott City 5, Cooter 1__
The Scott City Rams defeated the Cooter Wildcats 5-1 on Tuesday at Cooter High School.
The offense of Scott City was led by junior Luke Umfleet who wnet 1-3 with a walk, three RBIs, and one run scored. Junior Blake Wilburn pitched the full seven innings and finished with eight strikeouts and two walks.
Scott City struck first in the third with an Unfleet home run that scored three and a double by senior Dalyn Littlepage that scored senior Holden Miller. The final run came in the seventh when junior Tyson Underwood hit a single that scored freshman Jackson Gloth.
Scott City will go to Oak Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
