The Poplar Bluff Mules held a narrow lead after the first quarter against St. Vincent on Wednesday in the Rolla “Duke” Herbert Classic semifinals at Crystal City High School, but the Mules were just finding their footing.

Poplar Bluff exploded for 30 points in the second frame, which set the tone for the rest of the game. The Mules took down St. Vincent 88-53 to advance to Friday’s final against Saxony Lutheran.

The Mules followed it up with 28 points in the third as multiple players finished in double figures.

Preston Moore fin-ished with 20 points, including 10 in the second quarter to lead Poplar Bluff. Dallas Williams had 17 points, while Torrence Williams finished with 12 points. Mar’Lon Hickman-Roberson had 12 points and Brendan Durden had 10 in the win.

Nine Mules scored buckets in the dominant victory. Poplar Bluff plays in the tournament final at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
