PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- The Perryville High softball team evened its record at 1-1 by blanking visiting St. Pius 7-0 Friday.

Megan Narrow pitched all seven innings, allowing five hits and no walks.

The Lady Pirates had just five hits, led by Jamie Martin with two. Perryville was helped out by eight walks and several errors.

"St. Pius is strong every year and they're always one of the better teams in our conference," said Perryville coach Lynn O'Neal. "Our girls executed well."

Eagle Ridge 11-16

Poplar Bluff, Mo. -- Eagle Ridge Christian of Cape Girardeau dropped a hard-fought season opener on the road.

Rachel Carbaugh led Eagle Ridge with nine kills while Ashley Hughes had nine service points. Brandi Shreve added six service points.

Eagle Ridge lost the JV match 15-5, 15-8.
