ST. LOUIS -- Despite not taking a full team, Perryville athletes fared well during Saturday's 17-team Oakville Invitational track & field meet.
On the boys side, Nathan Ruesler was fifth in the 300 hurdles (41.54) and sixth in the 100 hurdles (16.37), while the 4x800 relay team of Nathan Moore, Brian Schlichting, Jacob Schneider and James Boice was second (8:23).
Perryville's girls were led by second-place performances from Susan Miller in the 400 (60.66) and Becky Lankford in the high jump (4-9). Miller was also fourth in the 100 (13.3).
Three Lady Pirate relay teams placed. The 4x400 squad of Renee Schlichting, Sarah Lappe, Gina Buerck and Miller was fourth (4:25), the 4x800 team of Schlichting, Katrina Bockhorn, Katie Kutz and Beurck was fifth (10:16) and the 4x100 team of Katie Burroughs, Jessalyn Rhyne, Rachel Wunderlich and Miller was sixth (54.2).
