Perryville grabs third in Potosi's tournament

The Perryvillle boys basketball team finished third at the Potosi Tournament with a 46-43 win over Fredericktown on Saturday.

Phillip Buerck led the Pirates (2-1) with 12 points. Andrew Norman, Ricky Dunn and Scott Ozark scored nine points apiece for Perryville.

Scott County Central 66, East Carter 61

Isaac Porter poured in 27 points, as Scott County Central took a 13-point halftime lead and held on for a nonconference victory on Saturday night.

The Braves led 22-12 after one period and 39-26 at halftime.

Josh Porter added nine points, Andrew Pullen scored eight and Ray Rogers added six for Scott County Central (3-1).

Christian Outreach Tournament

New Salem Baptist finished with a 1-2 record Saturday at the Christian Outreach Tournament for a fourth-place finish.

Boone Gaines scored 46 points on the day to lead New Salem (5-5). Jeremy Rockhill scored 30 in the three games.
