Dexter jumped on Perryville early in their Class 4 District 1 girls basketball semifinal at the Perry Park Center on Friday, and the Pirates never had a chance to mount a rally.
The Bearcats opened an 11-point lead after the first quarter, and cruised to the 64-31 victory.
"We didn't block off," Perryville coach Vicki Lohmann said. "We let them have second and third shots. We knew what they were going to do, and we just didn't come out and execute in that first quarter.
"I felt like our offense was running ragged and we changed some things up the last few days, but it wasn't major changes. I felt like we weren't confident with the ball in our end of the floor, which caused us to turn the ball over."
Ava Johnson was the lone Perryville player to score in double figures, hitting for 10 points. Alyssa Bauwens added eight.
The Pirates finished 20-6, which matched the most wins under Lohmann and the fewest losses during her 11-year tenure.
