Roadrunners elect new members at banquet
The Cape Roadrunners elected new board members and awarded top runners at their recent banquet.
Terri Baker and Chuck Dobbs were elected to the board, while Dennis Sander was re-elected.
Among the awards given:
Bernadette Huston, top individual mileage with 3,750 miles in 2001.
Logan Royer, junior runner of the year.
Taylor Sander, female runner of the year.
Danny McCrite, male runner of the year.
Ken Peters, volunteer of the year.
The group's next event is the Spring Classic on April 6.
Owen among leaders at Truman State
Former Cape Central High School starter Nathan Owen has been the top scorer in three of the past six games for the Truman State University men's basketball team.
Owen has played in 11 games since returning from a broken hand. He averages 10 points in the past nine games, leading the team in four of those.
Owen is a 6-foot-2 senior guard who spent his first two seasons at Southeast Missouri State.
