PEKIN, Ill. -- Southeast Missouri State golfers Jason Owen and David Fulton finished 1-2 in the individual competition in the 10-team Bradley University Spring Invitational, helping the Indians to a second-place in the team standings Tuesday.
Owen finished two strokes ahead of Fulton as he totaled 225 with three consecutive rounds of 3-over-par 75 at Lick Creek Golf Course. Fulton, who earned medalist in the 12-team Billiken Invitational last week, had rounds of 76-76-75 for a 227 total.
Southeast ended the two-day tournament tied with St. Ambrose in the team standings with a three-round total of 944, but lost in a team playoff on the first hole.
Eastern Kentucky placed third with 951, and was followed by Wisconsin-Green Bay (954), De Paul (958), Bradley (965), Illinois Central (968), Western Illinois (974), Lewis University (993) and St. Francis (1,011).
The Indians took a two-stroke lead into the third round, but shot 317 as St. Ambrose pulled even with a 315.
Southeast's other scores for the tournament: Bry'n Johnson 77-81-80--238, Woody Hill 83-84-88--255 and Mark Horn 85-84-87--256. John Litzelfelner, golfing as an individual, shot 77-76-85--238.
