When Dexter senior guard Hannah Noe went on an official visit to Southeast Missouri State and met with the Southeast women's basketball coaches on Wednesday, she already had a strong feeling about what her future would hold.

"They had talked to me throughout the season and I kind of had in mind that they were pretty much No. 1 on my list for schools," Noe said. "And so when we went today for the official visit I decided at the beginning of the visit to commit."

Noe verbally committed to play basketball for the Redhawks during her visit.

She said that while she had other schools on her list earlier in the process, she'd narrowed it down to Southeast and Three Rivers Community College.

Noe toured the Southeast campus, watched current players' individual workouts and discussed everything from the academic side of Southeast to coach Ty Margenthaler's expectations for the future of the program.

"They're already taking small steps toward making the program more successful and getting it back to where it used to be, and it's a pretty exciting deal to be able to come in and possibly be able to help the program to get better," Noe said. "I was very excited and very pleased with everything that I saw and heard today."

Noe was told that she'll likely be a combo point and shooting guard.

Also influencing her decision were a pair of local players currently playing for Southeast.

Notre Dame graduate Allyson Bradshaw and Jackson graduate Connor King, who Noe played against during her freshman and sophomore seasons in high school and who both started for Southeast this season, have talked to Noe throughout the recruiting process.

"Just always good and positive things about the program and coaching," Noe said of those conversations.

Noe wasn't guaranteed a major role coming in as a freshman next year.

"Pretty much just come in and take it day by day and go from there," she said.

"It's a big relief to finally make the decision," Noe said. "I waited until after state so that I didn't feel stressed about it or anything, so to finally commit and know that I get to start working out in June is always a good feeling."
