Southeast Missouri State's softball team improved to 8-12 with a convincing doubleheader sweep over Austin Peay at the Southeast Complex.

The Otahkians, now 2-0 in Ohio Valley Conference competition, clubbed the Lady Governors 8-0 in the first game and 11-4 in the second.

Jenny Doehring (6-5) pitched a one-hitter in the opener. She struck out seven and walked only one.

Brooke Nett, Doehring and Renee Enos had two hits apiece, while Reagan Hamlin, Courtney Eklund and Emmy Kisaka drove home two runs apiece.

Southeast scored two runs in the first, three in the third and three in the fourth and managed 10 hits off Austin Peay's Holly Ricketts, who went the distance.

In the second game, Hamlin and Emmy Kisaka each went 3-for-4 with three RBIs as Southeast used a five-run sixth to pull away. Doehring, Enos and Dawn Piantino had two hits apiece.

Winning pitcher Kristen King (2-7) went 5 2/3 innings and gave up four runs, all earned, on 10 hits and four walks. She struck out two.
