COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Amy Fahnestock pitched a 10-inning gem as Southeast Missouri State University's softball team defeated host Tennessee Tech 3-1 Saturday afternoon.

The Otahkians (11-24, 6-4 Ohio Valley Conference) salvaged a victory in the three-game series after dropping Friday's doubleheader to the Eaglettes (27-19, 8-5).

Fahnestock allowed just three hits. She struck out two and walked three.

Southeast had nine hits, led by Kelly Birk with three. Birk also drove in two runs. Suzi Lair doubled twice while Alana Bagby-Leonard added two hits.

Tech scored its only run in the third inning. Southeast tied it in the sixth and the contest remained 1-1 through the regulation seven innings.

The Otahkians went ahead for good with a two-run 10th, getting an RBI double from Lair and an RBI single from Birk.

Southeast returns to action Tuesday, visiting Tennessee-Martin for a 2 p.m. OVC doubleheader.
