OTAHKIANS LOSE TO NEVADA 69-52

RENO, Nev. -- The Southeast Otahkian basketball team fell 69-52 in their opening-round game of the Holiday Inn Classic to tourney host Nevada.

The Otahkians face Texas-El Paso today at 4:30 p.m. in a consolation contest. UTEP lost to South Carolina 100-60.

Southeast trailed 36-17 at halftime, but pulled to within 49-40 with 8:46 left. Nevada then went on a 12-4 run to pull away, hitting 10 of 12 free throws in the next three minutes.

Tajuana White led Southeast with 11 points. Kamie Koester had 12 rebounds for the Otahkians and four steals for the Otahkians.
