No way does Southeast Missouri State University's women's basketball team want to go back out on the road with a winless Ohio Valley Conference record.

That means the pressure is on the Otahkians in today's 5:30 p.m. game against Morehead State at the Show Me Center.

Southeast fell to 2-9 overall and 0-4 in OVC play when Eastern Kentucky claimed a 71-55 victory at the Show Me Center Saturday night. That came on the heels of another home league loss, to Tennessee-Martin last Thursday.

But the Otahkians certainly had to be encouraged by their performance against Eastern Kentucky. Southeast trailed the Lady Colonels by just two points late in the second half before falling short.

"I thought we played very hard and gave a tremendous effort," said Southeast coach Ed Arnzen. "I'm getting tired of losing as much as the girls are. But if we can put forth this type of effort in the next game, we have a good chance to get a win."

The Otahkians should have a good chance to win today's game. Like Southeast, Morehead is winless in the league (0-3) and the Lady Eagles have an identical overall record of 2-9.

But Arnzen said the Lady Eagles are much better than their record indicates.

"They have a very good center who is averaging about 23 points and they have the same backcourt as last year," he said. "They'll be a pretty potent club."
