Southeast Missouri State University's softball team ended its regular season in style Sunday as the Otahkians easily swept an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader from visiting Tennessee State.

The Otahkians romped 12-0 and 11-3, with both games being stopped after the top of the fifth inning by the eight-run rule.

Southeast improved to 28-22 overall and 17-7 in league play heading into this week's OVC Tournament that will probably be played in Charleston, Ill. The Otahkians have won 16 of their last 20 games.

TSU fell to 5-42 overall and 2-21 in the OVC.

The Otahkians had 20 hits Sunday and received home runs from Brooke Nett and Jenny Doehring.

In the opener, Doehring had three hits and drove in three runs, Kelsey White had two hits and three RBIs and Josie Earnest added three RBIs.

Kathryn Cerneka had two hits and four RBIs in the nightcap while White and Nett added two hits apiece. Courtney Eklund contributed three RBIs.

Jennifer Dippel (9-4) pitched the first-game shutout, allowing two hits while striking out three and walking none.

Renee Mueller (11-13) hurled a seven-hitter in the nightcap.
