FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — One day after playing the Florida Marlins to a tie in their exhibition opener, the St. Louis Cardinals were dealt an 11-3 loss by the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday.

St. Louis starter Kyle Lohse started off strong, but then faltered. He retired the side in order in the first, then gave up two-run homers to former Southeast Missouri State standout Justin Christian and Nolan Reimold in the second.

Reimold added a two-run single off Ian Ostlund in the third, and Scott Moore hit a three-run homer against Brad Furnish in the sixth.

Christian, who played center field for the Orioles, went 2-for-4 and scored two runs.

Yadier Molina had a two-run double for the Cardinals in the first inning.
