ORAN, Mo. -- Oran's boys' basketball team won the battle of undefeated Scott-Mississippi Conference foes Thursday night over Kelly 62-57 as the Eagles captured the league championship.

Oran (19-6, 6-0) was led by Nathan Seyer's 20 points. Tyler Cookson scored 14 and Patrick Friga had 11 for the Eagles.

Major Burger paced Kelly (7-15, 5-1) with 23, while Michael Romas and Barry Ziegler scored 13 and 11, respectively.

Scott City 70, Puxico 58

SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Scott City ended its regular season by beating Puxico in a preview of a first-round matchup in the Class 2A, District 2 Tournament next week.

The Rams (11-13) were led by Tyler Ward with 19 points. Aaron Simmers grabbed 14 rebounds as Scott City held a 51-17 advantage on the boards.

Meadow Heights 76, Zalma 55

ZALMA, Mo. -- Meadow Heights' Josh Mayfield joined the 1,000-point club with 1,001 for his career after he led the Panthers with 21 points.

Joey Bell scored 16, Cody Thompson 11 and Josh Fulton 10 for Meadow Heights (14-10)

Zalma (5-18) was led by Brad McKlin with 19 and Steven McCain with 10.

Bell City 68, East Prairie 42

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Seventh-ranked in Class 1A, Bell City (21-5) ended its regular season on a winning note.

Eric Henry (18) and Dominitrix Johnson (14) led Bell City.

Heart of America 55, Eagle Ridge 48

JOPLIN,Mo.-- Eagle Ridge fell in its Class 2A Missouri State Christian Athletic Association Tournament opener.

Andrew Mellies led Eagle Ridge with 21 points and Mike Probst added 12.

JOPLIN, Mo. -- New Salem Baptist got double-figure scoring from four players en route to its win over Calvary Christian in the opening round of the Class 1A Missouri State Christian Athletic Association Tournament.

John Davault led New Salem (13-15) with 18 points. Seth Gaines scored 16, Andy Yount 12 and Brandon Dodd 11.

Kelly 54, Oran 37

ORAN, Mo. -- Dana Essner scored 12 points and Ashley Kern had nine as Kelly (21-4) claimed the Scott-Mississippi Conference championship with a 7-0 record.

Maria Eftink led Oran (12-8) with 18 points.

Delta 78, Scott County Central 54

MORLEY, Mo. -- Led by 36 points and 15 rebounds from Rebecca Below, Delta improved to 18-6.

Sarah Cook scored 17 and Rebecca Cook had 15 for the Bobcats.

Stephanie Maney paced Scott County Central (10-10) with 18, followed by Brittany Godwin with 10.

Eagle Ridge 66, Outreach 42

JOPLIN, Mo. -- Top-seeded Eagle Ridge rolled past No. 8 Outreach Christian in girls' first-round action of the Class 2A Missouri State Christian Athletic Association Tournament.

Amber Karnes led Eagle Ridge (16-3) with 21 points, while Hannah Cordes and Rachel Carbaugh added 16 and 14, respectively.

New Salem Baptist 41, Lee's Summit Christian 31

GARDEN CITY, Mo. -- Sarah Green scored 18 points to lead No. 2 New Salem (15-5) to a first-round victory in the girls' division of the Missouri State Christian Athletic Association Tournament.

Mary Poole added 10 for New Salem.
