BENTON, Mo. — The Kelly girls’ basketball pushed Oran to the brink, but ultimately fell 59-56 at home on Thursday, Jan. 12.
The Lady Eagles improved to 9-4, while the Lady Hawks dropped to 7-7.
“Everyone came in with a good effort,” said Kelly coach Matthew Blissett. “Oran did well at knocking down free throws. We have to work on defense without using our hands and limiting the free points. I think we are moving in the right direction.”
Oran led 29-28 at halftime, but outscored their opponents by 10 points in the third quarter.
Grace Davis scored a game-high 16 to lead Oran. She was followed by Haley Webb (13), Bralynn Morgan (12) and Emma Priggell (10).
Kayleigh Holman scored a team-high 14 to lead the Lady Hawks, while Kristen Grogan added 10.
Oran competes in the Jackson Lady Indian Showcase this weekend, while Kelly will travel to Scott City (10-5) on Jan. 17.
