BROSELEY, Mo. — After trailing 25-21 through three quarters, East Prairie’s offense exploded for 36 points in the final quarter.
The Eagles (13-5) completed the dramatic comeback to win 57-43 at Twin Rivers (9-10) on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
“We struggled offensively for three quarters,” said East Prairie coach Gary Scott. “ We could not get anything going. We turned the ball over too much and couldn’t get many shots to fall. Our defense was good enough to keep the game close going into the fourth quarter, and thankfully, we were able to get it going offensively in the last eight minutes.”
Noah Johnson led East Prairie with a game-high 19 points, while Wyatt Williams added 11.
Jake Hester was the Royals’ top scorer with 14.
East Prairie will host Delta (4-13) on Thursday, Jan. 26. The Eagles were seeded second in the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament and will take on seventh-seeded Delta at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28.
Twin Rivers all host East Carter (10-7) on Friday, Jan. 27.
