Notre Dame senior Brady Dixon saved his best 18-hole high school round for the Class 3 District 1 tournament Monday at the Crowne Pointe Golf Club in Farmington, Missouri.
Dixon fired a 3-under-par 69 to claim the medalist honor and lead the Bulldogs in their successful defense of their district title. Notre Dame totaled 308 and finished 21 shots ahead of runner-up Farmington.
Notre Dame sophomore Jack Litzelfelner, the defending Class 3 state champion, finished second overall with a 2-under 70. Nick Cantoni (81) and Jonathan Bell (87) rounded out the Bulldogs' team score.
Notre Dame, which finished second at last year's Class 3 meet, and Farmington advance to Monday's sectional tournament at Quail Creek Golf Club in the suburban St. Louis area.

St. Vincent senior Levi Gotto shot an even-par 72 to earn the medalist honor at the Class 1 District 1 tournament at Ste. Genevieve Golf Club.
Gotto's score helped the Indians to a second-place finish with a 340 total, three strokes behind Barat Academy, and a spot in next week's sectional tournament
Karsten Short of Saxony Lutheran, and Spence Lorch and Brian Whitson of Advance were among the individuals to advance to the sectional meet. The top 15 golfers not on the top two teams qualified.

The Hawks did not qualify as a team, finishing seventh among the 10 teams.
Arcadia Valley (361) won the team competition and St. Pius X (391) was runner-up.
