Notre Dame's boys swimming program added another accomplishment to its lists of firsts Thursday: a win over Central.

The Bulldogs' third-year program won 95-90 at the Central pool.

"It's certainly a big win for our program," Notre Dame coach Lenny Kuper said. "It was a close meet, too, which made it even more exciting."

Jameson Kuper finished with a state-qualifying time of 50.94 seconds in the 100 freestyle, which he won. Notre Dame won seven of 12 events.

Central picked up its first state-qualifying time of the year in 1:35.75 in the 200 freestyle relay. The team consisted of Alex Heddle, Clay Schermann, Andrew Moreton and Sam Maguire.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Bell City 102, Delta 62

Bell City had four players in double figures in a big win at home.

Eric Henry led the Cubs (5-1) with 19 points. Kenyon Wright and Ben Duncan had 16 apiece and Dominitrix Johnson had 15.

Joey Keys led Delta with 20 points and Brent Menz added 14.

Meadow Heights 78, Marquand 47

Joey Bell scored 29 points to pace the Panthers at home in their fifth win of the season.

Evan Camp and Josh Fulton scored 10 apiece for the Panthers (5-1), who led 46-24 at the break. Josh King scored 15 for Marquand (0-3).

St. Vincent 58, Leopold 42

Sophomore Alex Armbruster helped St. Vincent (2-1) edge Leopold by scoring 23 points and dishing out eight assists. Matt Wengert added 11 while Aaron Rellergert contributed five points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Leopold was led by Josh Vandeven's 12 points and Kevin Holzam's 10 points.

Woodland 76, Chaffee 60

Woodland (4-3) handled Chaffee with the help of Luke Johnson's 23 points. Sophomore Cody McCraw added 16 while Alex VanGennip added 13.

Chaffee (0-2) was led by James Reischmen, who scored 20. Sid Burks added 11.

FRESHMAN BASKETBALL

Central 42, Farmington 37

Central (2-3) squandered a fourth quarter lead but recovered to win in two overtimes. Matt Hester scored 12 for the Tigers and Tyler Terry added 10.

Central won its "B" game 37-18.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Delta 45, Charleston 35

Coach Randy White gained his 300th win on the road.

Rebecca Below continued her hot scoring with an 18-point performance for Delta (7-0). Sarah M. Cook added 11 and Rebecca Cook 10.

Missy Whitney had 14 for Charleston.

Malden 49, Scott City 44

Scott City couldn't overcome a five-point halftime deficit and lost at home.

Rachel Spinks led Scott City (4-3) with 18 points. Amanda Raines added nine points.

WRESTLING

Jackson 63, Windsor 12

Jackson dominated visiting Windsor in a prelude to today's Tiger Classic.

Brock Howard (125 pounds) and Kramer Rampley (145 pounds) won by pins and remained undefeated.

Cody Rouse improved his record to 14-1 with a victory at 140 pounds.
