GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Jackson 54, Farmington 45

The Jackson Lady Indians, led by Jenna Leet's 24 points, won its season opener in the Farmington Tournament.

Whitney Werner added 10 points for Jackson (1-0).

Natalie Beth led Farmington with 21 points.

Jackson led 13-10 after the first quarter and built a 23-15 lead by halftime. The lead grew to 11 points, 38-27, by the start of the fourth quarter.

St. Vincent 41, Ste. Genevieve 35

Caitlin Hoeh scored 10 points to lead St. Vincent past St. Genevieve in the Valle Tournament.

Chelsey Brown added eight points for the Squaws (1-2), who picked up their first win of the season.-- From staff reports
