Colton Young tossed five innings to pick up the win as Notre Dame downed Sikeston 9-5 in six innings. He struck out seven and walked one.

Notre Dame (1-0) rallied for six runs in the fifth inning to break a 3-3 tie.

Jodi Menz and Amanda Seabaugh each smashed home runs to help the Bobcats win their season opener.

Kendra Burnett tossed the first two innings. She struck out four, gave up one walk and did not allow a hit. Burnett was relieved by Taylor Keys, who pitched a scorless third.

Menz drove in four runs. Keys, Katie Brucker and Taylor Smith each had two hits.
