Notre Dame's girls basketball team collected its 20th victory of the season Monday night with a 73-42 victory over Charleston.
Lisa Millham scorched the Lady Bluejays from the outside, connecting on six of eight 3-point attempts in finishing with a team-high 18 points.
Deana McCormick and Courtney Vickery each added 14 points for Notre Dame, which improved to 20-3 on the season. McCormick also had 10 rebounds.
Charleston freshman Monisha Murray scored a game-high 19 points as the Lady Bluejays fell to 17-5.
"They've got a good team," said Notre Dame coach Jerry Grim. "What we did is push the ball on them and made them run up and down the floor. I don't think they were use to a team pushing the ball on them."
Notre Dame led 16-6 after the opening quarter and led 31-17 at halftime. The Lady Bulldogs took a comfortable 54-29 lead into the fourth quarter.
Notre Dame concludes it regular-season schedule Thursday at Chaffee.
Oran 42, Delta 34
DELTA, Mo. -- In a possible preview of the upcoming Class 1A, District 2 Tournament final, Oran knocked off Delta.
Ashley Dirnberger scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Lady Eagles, who will be the No. 2 seed in next week's district tournament.
Delta (13-9), who will be the top seed, received 11 points from Rebecca Cook and 10 from Rebecca Below.
Oran took a 20-18 lead into halftime and outscored Delta 15-9 in the third quarter for a 35-27 lead. The teams played to a 7-7 stalemate in the final period.
Arcadia Valley 71, St. Vincent 38
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Arcadia Valley led by just three points at halftime but turned the game into a blowout in the second half.
Arcadia Valley led 27-24 at halftime, but saw its advantage grow to 43-30 by the start of the fourth quarter. Arcadia held a 28-8 scoring edge in the final period.
"The second half we just fell apart," said St. Vincent coach Terry Wengert.
Danielle Sutterer led St. Vincent (10-12) with 11 points.
Scott City 53, Valle 29
SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- High-scoring freshman Loren Groves scored 26 points in three quarters of action to lead the Lady Rams (17-7) over Valle of Ste. Genevieve.
Scott City led 27-13 at halftime and outscored Valle 26-16 in the second half.
Rachel Spinks chipped in with 10 points for the Lady Rams.
Kelly 56, Portageville 35
BENTON, Mo. -- The Lady Hawks (20-4), gearing up for district action next week, cruised to victory over Portageville.
"The girls came out and played hard for four quarters," said Kelly coach Rod McQuerter. "We wanted to get playing time for a lot of people, and we were able to do that."
The Lady Hawks led 32-23 at the intermission and limited Portageville to only two points in the final quarter in posting a 24-12 second-half advantage.
Bridgett Riley led Kelly with 17 points and Marissa Essner added 12.
Chaffee 63, Woodland 29
MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- With three players in double figures, the Lady Red Devils (8-13) coasted to victory over the winless Lady Cardinals.
Exploding for 31 points in the second quarter, Chaffee held a commanding 46-14 lead at the half.
Jennifer Vandeven led Chaffee with 20 points, while Morgan Kiefer and Brooke McFerron contributed 15 and 12 points, respectively.
Laci Roberts paced the Lady Cardinals with 12 points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Class 3A, District 1
NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Fifth-seed Kennett advanced to the semifinals by eliminating fourth-seed Sikeston 62-44 in Monday night's opening round.
Third-seed Doniphan handled No. 6 Perryville, 75-53.
Doniphan's Danny Kellas (18), Shayne Talburt (17), W. D. Kennon (12), Adam Crader (10) and Brian Pulliam (10) led the balanced attack.
Perryville was paced by Chad Ozark's game-high 22 points.
Dexter, the No. 2 seed, ran away from Fredericktown 88-43.
Kennett will meet top-seed and defending state champion New Madrid Wednesday at 6 p.m., while Doniphan and Dexter will follow in the other semifinal at 7:30.
