Olivia Beel scored a career-high 21 points and had 10 steals as Notre Dame routed Chaffee 81-19 in its regular-season finale Thursday night.

Jennifer Glueck also had 21 points for the Lady Bulldogs and turned in a team-high seven assists. Jill Huber followed with 11 points and Melissa Maurer netted 10.

Notre Dame (18-7) took command from the start, jumping out to a 20-7 lead in the first quarter. The Lady Bulldogs led 40-10 at halftime.

Notre Dame will be the top seed when Class 2A, District 2 action opens Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs will play winless East Prairie at noon.

St. Vincent 45, Oran 42

ORAN -- St. Vincent held a 13-10 advantage after one quarter Thursday and played Oran even the remaining three quarters to complete its regular season at 9-15.

"We came out a little flat early," said Oran coach Adrian Eftink. "We had a chance to tie it late, but a 3-pointer didn't fall.

"It was a very evenly matched game with a lot of physical play."

Debbie Welker recorded 14 steals and teammate Stephanie Klaus scored a team-high 18 points for the Squaws. Jessica Lakenan added 14 points.

Oran (2-16) got 21 points from Lindi Prindle and 17 from Sara Heisserer. The Lady Eagles host Puxico tonight in their regular-season finale.

Meadow Heights 74, Zalma 64

ZALMA -- Kevin Weaver popped for 30 points as Meadow Heights defeated Zalma Thursday.

Michael Jeter added 18 points for the Panthers.

Cory Coffey paced Zalma (4-19) with 18 points. Josh Smith tallied 13 and Ben Wallace finished with 12.

Meadow Heights assumed control early, taking a 26-12 lead in the opening period. The Panthers led 42-24 at halftime. Zalma outscored Meadow Heights 40-32 in the second half, but could not close the gap.

Zalma saw four players foul out and finished the game with four players on the floor.

Zalma (4-19) will open Class 1A, District 2 action Monday at 5:30 p.m. against Scott County Central.

East Carter 68, Marquand 59

MARQUAND -- East Carter held off the Tigers' second-half rally to emerge with a tough road-win Thursday.

"We should have beat them," said Marquand coach Rob Harlow. "We cut it to 42-40 in the third quarter, but missed too many free throws in the second half."

Marquand (16-9) got 21 points from Dusty Stephens 15 from Steve Braswell and 13 from Travis Braswell. The Tigers made 16 of 28 free-throw attempts.

Marquand ends its regular season tonight at Oak Ridge. A victory over the Blue Jays earns the Tigers sole possession of the Mississippi Valley Conference with an undefeated league record.
