PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- The Notre Dame High baseball team rode stellar pitching Wednesday to its third straight victory as the Bulldogs rolled past host Perryville 8-0.
Notre Dame improved to 6-4 while Perryville fell to 4-4.
Timmy Wencewicz picked up his second win in two days as he allowed three hits over the first five innings, with two strikeouts and one walk. Scott Eftink hurled the final two frames, giving up one hit while fanning two.
"Timmy told me he was strong enough to finish, but he threw three innings Tuesday (against Jackson) and the game was in control," said Notre Dame coach Jeff Graviett. "He's thrown tremendous the last two days."
The Bulldogs had nine hits, several of them wind-aided.
"It was real windy and anything in the air was an adventure," Graviett said.
Eftink, Andrew DePeder and Todd Friend all had two hits for the Bulldogs, who jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings.
Tony Scholl had two doubles to lead Perryville. Chad Etzold was the losing hurler.
Chaffee 24, Delta 0
DELTA, Mo. -- With strong winds blowing out to left, Chaffee took full advantage by belting five home runs during a five-inning destruction of Delta.
The 7-1 Red Devils got two homers from Jeremy Lynn and one each from Perry Rice, G.P. Glueck and Chase Eskew.
Rusty Duncan had four of Chaffee's 19 hits and he drove in three runs. Rice, Shawn Powderly and Chase Eskew joined Lynn in getting two hits. Lynn, Rice, Glueck, Powderly and Eskew all had three RBIs.
Duncan pitched four innings for the win, allowing one hit. He struck out four and walked none.
Delta (1-5) got its lone hit from Pat Lingo. Lance Kinder was the losing hurler.
Kelly 8, St. Vincent 6
BENTON, Mo. -- Kelly used a seven-run fourth inning to erase a 4-0 deficit and knock off the defending Class 1A state champions. Both teams are now 3-4.
"We hadn't really done something like that this year," said Kelly coach Mike Scott of the big rally. "It was good to see."
Drew Moore, who had two of Kelly's seven hits, sparked the fourth-inning rally with a two-run double.
Garrett Stricker was the winning pitcher with two innings of one-run relief. Justin Simpher hurled one scoreless inning for the save.
Adam Bockman suffered the loss. The Indians had nine hits, led by Tyler Wengert and Ryan Brown with three each and Bockman with two. Brown delivered three RBIs.
Oran 16, Poplar Bluff 1
ORAN, Mo. -- Nathan Seyer and Joey Bickings each went 3-for-4 with a homer as Oran lambasted Poplar Bluff in five innings, pushing the Eagles' record to 6-1.
Bickings also ended up with a double and six runs batted in, while Seyer had three RBIs.
Garrett Cook also homered for Oran, while going 2-for-3 with a two-run homer.
Trey Graviett (3-0) picked up the win. He went five innings and allowed one earned run on three hits and four walks while striking out seven.
Leopold 15, Puxico 4
PUXICO, Mo. -- Leopold banged out 17 hits as the Wildcats posted a five-inning victory.
Paul Hutchings and Adam Landewee both had three hits for the Wildcats (3-2) while Josh Van de Ven, Ashton James, Clayton Jansen, Lucas Hall and Kevin Holzum added two each. Van de Ven and James both homered.
Hutchings pitched four innings for the win, allowing six hits and three runs, with seven strikeouts.

Cape Central 163Dexter 168
Cape Central improved to 5-2 in dual meets by knocking off Dexter at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.
The Tigers' Luke Oliver was the individual medalist with a score of 39 on the par-35 course. Nick Harter followed with a 40 while Ty Gramling had a 41 and Todd Obergoenner a 43.
Dexter's scores were Ryan Jackson 41, Matt Christian 42, Chad Gill 42 and Brett Hale 43.

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Notre Dame knocked off Perryville in dual-meet action as the Bulldogs improved to 7-2.
Paul Unterreiner shot a 6-over-par 41 to lead the Bulldogs. He was followed by Tim Buerck 43, Adam Fenwick 43 and Elliott Maschmann 44.
Perryville (5-3) was led by Justin Dreyer with a 43. The Pirates' other scores were Kellen Stark 45, Ryan Kutz 45 and Jack Moore 46.
Jackson 161, Sikeston 164
JACKSON, Mo. -- Kyle Perry shot a 39 to lead Jackson to a three-stroke win over Sikeston at the par-35 Kimbeland Country Club.
Rhett Butler carded a 40, followed by Matt Litzelfelner and Peyton Sims with 41s as Jackson improved to 5-2 in dual meets.
Brandon Couch shot a 39 to lead Sikeston, followed by Tanner Fritz with a 40, Jonathan Specne with a 41 and Brandon DeWitt with a 44.

Parkway Central 124 Notre Dame 61
ST. LOUIS -- Notre Dame fell to 2-2 in dual meets by losing to the St. Louis-area power Parkway Central.
The Lady Bulldogs won three events, including individual victories from Lindsay Kuper in the 200 freestyle and Ali Tyson in the 50 freestyle.
