Notre Dame golfers Brandon Holzum and Brett Slaten broke the top 10 at the Class 3 District 1 tournament at Eagle Lake Golf Course in Farmington, Mo., on Tuesday to earn individual berths in the state tournament.

Dexter's Andrew Stuever shot a 1-under-par 71 to earn medalist and lead the Bearcats to the Class 3 District 1 title.

Dexter shot 324 as a team to finish 16 strokes ahead of Farmington. Notre Dame finished fourth at 351, while Perryville placed 10th at 407.

Holzum, a senior, led Notre Dame with an 82, while freshman Slaten carded an 86 to advance to the state tournament May 15 and 16 at Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar, Mo.

"It was a very tough course," Notre Dame coach Jerry Grim said. "Dexter had some awfully good scores. We're just glad to qualify someone. "

Austin Gelscheimer shot 90 and Austin Hunter finished with a 93 to round out Notre Dame's total.

Jacob Essner had three hits, including a three-run home run in a road win.

Notre Dame (16-6) had 14 hits in all, with Jordan Buchheit, Lucas Dirnberger and Chad Friend adding two apiece.

Dylan Drury pitched five innings for the win. Drury struck out three, walked none and allowed seven hits.

Scott City mustered just four hits as it dropped a SEMO Conference game on the road.

Andy Stephens suffered the loss for Scott City (7-10), allowing three runs in five innings. He allowed six hits, struck out four and walked two.

Woodland 12, Bloomfield 1

Woodland scored six runs in the fifth inning to enact the mercy rule to complete a romp at home.

The Cardinals (5-12) plated five runs in the fourth inning to break open a 1-0 game.

Winning pitcher Jacob Gillis allowed just two hits.

Dale Long, Ben Rose and Tim Abner each had two hits for Woodland. Gillis helped his own cause with two RBIs, while Long, Austin Lincoln and Andrew Wagner added two RBIs apiece.

Bobbi Jo Schlick scored twice and Rebecca Richbourg netted the other goal for the Indians. Lauren Drewett had an assist, and Kylie Werner recorded the shutout.

The Indians have outscored the Tigers 9-1 in the three meetings.

Gina Moroni threw a five-inning no-hitter and Advance banged out 12 hits in a road win.

Moroni struck out two and walked two. Cindy Simmers led the Hornets (4-4) with three hits. Autumn VanGennip, Angela Broshuis, Alicia Reeves and Hannah Kennison had two apiece.

Portageville 8, Oran 0

The Eagles fell to 13-3 with a road loss.

Jodi Urhahn had two hits, including a double, for Oran, which was limited to just three hits. Cassie Graviett had the other, a double.

Pitcher Hanna Seyer took the loss.
