Also Thursday, the Cardinals released their 2002 schedule, which features 90 games against teams in the NL Central. St. Louis opens the season at home Monday, April 1, against Colorado. The Cardinals close the season with a four-game series at home against Milwaukee.

St. Louis will play just nine of its final 46 games outside the Central Division.

For the first time ever -- including spring training and postseason games -- the Cardinals will play the Anaheim Angels this year, meeting for a three-game set with the American League club June 18-20 at Busch Stadium.

Other interleague games include a home-and-home series with Kansas City and a trip to Seattle to face the Mariners in June.
