New Salem (18-10) defeated Christian Outreach of Hillsboro 25-23 in Friday's Class 2A semifinals in Joplin, as MacKenzie Jones hit two free throws with 10 seconds remaining to break a 23-23 tie.
Sarah Green led New Salem with 10 points.
