Jennifer VanGennip led a balanced offensive attack for the Lady Bulldogs as she had 11 kills. Lynn Obermiller added seven kills while Ashley Millham and Courtney Vickery followed with six and five, respectively.

Ali Tyson dished out 18 assists, Katie Canfield added 13 assists and Emily Worley recorded 14 service points.

"Emily Worley played great defense and had an outstanding tournament," Payne said. "Lynn Obermiller and Courtney Vickery also played really good defense."

Meadow Heights captured third place by beating Zalma 15-4, 15-13 Saturday night. The Lady Panthers (27-2) got eight kills from Tessa Bollinger while Holly Boyd added three kills, seven digs and two kill-blocks.

CROSS COUNTRY

North County Invitational

BONNE TERRE, Mo. Kelly was second in both the varsity boys and varsity girls divisions to highlight a successful day for the program.

The Hawks had 49 points to finish just behind winner Farmington, which had 45. There were seven full teams in the boys division.

Kelly's boys were led by Adam Daughetee, who was second. The Hawks had five top-20 finishers, all earning medals.

In the girls division, there were only two full squads. Viburnum won with 79 points and Kelly had 83.

Kelly's girls were led by Shannon Lawson's ninth-place finish. Four Lady Hawks finished in the top 20 to garner medals.

Kelly also won the JV boys title while Jackson captured the JV girls crown.

Jeffco Conference Meet

FESTUS, Mo. Perryville's boys captured the Jefferson County Conference championship for the second year in a row.

The Pirates romped with 29 points in the field that included just four full teams. Festus was second with 53 points.

All seven Perryville runners earned all-conference honors by placing in the top 15. Nathan Moore and Jacob Schneider had a photo finish, with Moore awarded the title. Kent Hadler was fourth.

Perryville's girls finished last among five full squads. The Lady Pirates were paced by Katrina Bockhorn's seven-place performance.

BOYS SOCCER

Borgia 2, Notre Dame 1

WASHINGTON, Mo. Notre Dame put up a strong effort but lost to the state's fourth-ranked squad.

The Bulldogs (13-5-1) got the game's first goal as Scott Wittenborn scored 19 minutes into the match, with an assist from Tim Buerck.

Borgia tied it late in the first half and then scored the only goal of the second half.

Notre Dame's JV suffered a 1-0 defeat.
