Top-seeded Notre Dame set up a rematch with Sikeston in the Class 2 District 1 boys soccer finals with a 5-1 win over De Soto on Monday at Sikeston.

Sikeston, the third seed, defeated No. 2 Farmington 4-0 in the other semifinal.

The finals will be 6 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the third straight championship between Sikeston and Notre Dame, with Sikeston having won the past two.

Jack Wedemeier added to his record goal-scoring season with two goals to lead Notre Dame (22-1). Wedemeier moved his single-season record to 28 goals.

Ryan Willen, Richard Marquart and John Unterreiner added goals for Notre Dame. Abe Dirnberger had a pair of assists and Ty Williams added an assist.

Class 3 District 1

Top-seeded Jackson advanced to the championship of the Class 3 District 1 tournament at Hillsboro, Mo., with a 4-1 win over No. 4 Northwest.

Jackson will face No. 3 Poplar Bluff at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mules ended Central's five-year reign as district champions with a 5-3 win.

Chris Shelton led the Indians (14-7-4) with two goals. Curtis Sturms and Brian Davidson added goals for Jackson.

Matt Mueller, Spencer McCormack, Shelton and Davidson added assists.

The Indians are looking for their first district title since 1998.

The second-seeded Tigers (10-12) fell behind 3-0 in the first half and could not come back.

Lucian Johnson scored on a penalty kick late in the opening half to cut the lead to 3-1. Matt Hester scored from Zach Zaruba to make the score 4-2, but the Mules countered to make it 5-2.

Andy Billmeyer scored the final goal for Central.

Class 1 District 1

Saxony Lutheran won its first ever district soccer game, routing Kennett 5-1 in the quarterfinals of the Class 1 District 1 game hosted by St. Pius.

The third-seeded Crusaders (11-3) will face host St. Pius in the semifinals at 7 p.m. today.

Garrett Fritsche scored three goals and Andrew Etzold had the other two for Saxony Lutheran.

Brandon Etzold (3), Brent Rodewald and Mark Buerck added assists.
