The Notre Dame boys soccer team picked up a narrow road victory over Jackson on Thursday, dropping the Indians to 2-1.
The Bulldogs (13-1) struck first midway through the first half when a header from Ryan Willen found the net. Richard Marquart assisted on the goal.
Near the end of the first half, Jackson's Chris Shelton scored on a penalty kick that tied the score.
The game remained tied until Ty Williams scored late in the second half off an assist from Jack Wedemeier to give the Bulldogs the victory.
"It was a great game," said Notre Dame coach Brad Wittenborn. "Jackson's got a great bunch of kids, and they came to play. We just outlasted them."
Jackson fell to 9-4-3 with the loss.
JV -- Jackson won 2-1.
Central fell to .500 with a road loss.
The Tigers are 5-5-2.
JV -- Central won 6-2.
Bell City picked up the sweep at home.
Rachel Spears led the Cubs (22-1) with 10 kills and five blocks. Jenny Lathum added five kills and Codie Lancaster had 18 assists.
Valerie Gibbons led Scott City (11-7-3) with five kills and nine digs. Livia Giovanni added five kills and Brooke Simpson had three kills and two blocks. Kristen Yetman had seven assists and Kacie Ritter added five.
Notre Dame (11-8) swept Jackson at home.
Destiny Dirnberger had 12 service points for the Bulldogs. Ashley Nenninger had eight kills, Meridith Medlin had five kills and eight assists and Emily Huber added eight assists.
Ashley Soemo had six kills and two aces for the Indians (6-11-1). Katelyn James added six kills and Chelsea Olson had 10 assists.
JV -- Notre Dame won 2-15, 21-25, 25-19.
Freshmen -- Jackson won 14-25, 25-12, 15-8.
Saxony Lutheran (7-12-1) improved its conference record to 3-1with a road victory.
Kara Versemann had five kills, eight blocks and 16 digs for the Crusaders. Nicole Petzoldt had six kills, six blocks and nine digs and Brooke Kasten added eight points and four assists.
JV -- Meadow Heights won 25-9, 25-12.
Chaffee got a sweep at home.
Lindsay Cook had three blocks and seven assists for the Red Devils. Lindsey McKinley had four aces and four digs, Kelsey Spears had four digs and three kills and Brooke James had four aces.
Oran (3-13) was swept at home.
Kayla Graviett had 12 digs for the Eagles in a losing cause.
Leopold improved to 15-2 with the win.
JV -- Leopold won in two sets.
Woodland improved to 16-4-1 with a road win.
Chelsie Morris led Woodland with seven kills. Lauren Johnson added three kills and 11 service points and Jessica Santi had 11 points. Rheanna Greer added 10 points and five assists for the Cardinals.
JV -- Woodland won 26-24, 25-23.
Central had all seven boys and girls runners medal at the Anna-Jonesboro Invitational.
The Tigers finished second in the boys race and third on the girls side. Carbondale won both divisions.
The top 30 individuals medal.
Tyler Yeargain had Central's top finish in sixth. Dale Brannock, Cole Bradley and Shawn Owens placed eighth through 10th, repsectively.
Brittany Moreland led Central's girls in 14th. The Tigers next six runners placed 17th through 22nd, respectively.
The junior high and junior varsity ran in an open division race. Jessie Hahn placed first on the girls side for Central.

Logan Bollinger placed third in the 100 butterfly, and the 200 freestyle relay team also placed third to lead the Bulldogs.

Sirena Watkins, Nichols and Courtney Schuessler had three hits apiece for Central (12-11). Paige Rothenberger added two doubles.

Kendra Burnett and Kayla Seabaugh shared mound duties for the Bobcats.
Burnett struck out two, walked one and allowed one hit through the first three innings. Seabaugh recorded four strikeouts with two walks, giving up one hit through the final three frames.
Shea Smith led Delta's offense, going 2-for-5 with a triple. Burnett also had two hits.
