PACIFIC -- Emily Worley deposited the game-winner two minutes into overtime as Notre Dame's girls soccer team moved into the championship game of the Pacific Tournament Thursday night with a 2-1 victory over Pacific.

Worley took a cross pass from Jill Edwards from 6 yards out and put it off the bottom of the cross bar and into the net.

The Lady Bulldogs, who have never won the tournament, will play Union in Saturday's 7 p.m. championship game.

"That was by far our best game we've played," said Notre Dame coach Jeff Worley, who saw his team improve to 4-5. "We did a nice job passing the ball. It's the first game we've had everybody clicking."

Notre Dame took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half when Katie Mehner scored off a pass from Emily Worley.

Pacific tied the game 1-1 on free kick 10 minutes into the second half.

Cape Central 6, Poplar Bluff 1

Amber Voerg netted three goals and assisted on another as Cape Central improved to 5-1-1 on the season.

Voerg scored two of her goals in the first half, including one just a minute into the game, and Amanda Hiler added one as the Lady Tigers opened up a 3-0 lead by halftime. Mindy Hoffman, Hiler and Voerg scored second-half goals. Hiler and Katie Hawkins each finished with an assist.

Cape Central won the JV game 4-0.

Jackson 5, St. Vincent 1

JACKSON -- Jackson got goals from four players to slide past St. Vincent.

Jackson (3-3-2) got two goals from Julie Wunderlich while Lacey Hodo, Meghan Humphries and Dana Wright each added one. Wunderlich and Kenzie Turley had two assists apiece and Hodo had one.

St. Vincent, which trailed just 2-1 at halftime, got its only goal from Caitlin Hoeh.

"They just kind of wore us down," said St. Vincent coach Terry Wengert.

BOYS GOLF

Sikeston 157, Notre Dame 167

SIKESTON -- Notre Dame's Nick Martin shot a team-best 39 as Notre Dame dropped a dual match to Sikeston at Bootheel Golf Club.

Tim Buerck shot a 40 for Notre Dame, followed by Lucas Klein with 43 and Derek Welter with 45.

Sikeston's Ryan Griggs was the medalist with a 38.

St. Vincent wins tri-meet

PERRYVILLE -- St. Vincent had all four of its golfers shoot under 40 Thursday as the Indians won a conference tri-match over Perryville and De Soto at the Perryville Country Club.

St. Vincent posted a team score of 149, followed by Perryville with 166 and De Soto with 176.

St. Vincent's Craig Schumer shot a par-35 and was the medalist. Jon Paulus, Matt Hoch and Ryan Prost each shot 38s.

"This is the first time I've had all four golfers in the 30s," said St. Vincent coach Tom Prost whose team took third in the state last year and first in state two years ago. "We might have had better scores, but that was phenomenal today."

For Perryville, Jeff Hotop and Kellen Stark led the way with a 40, followed by Josh Ponder with a 41 and Jack Moore with a 45.

SOFTBALL

Oran 11, Scott City 8

SCOTT CITY -- In a close game throughout, Oran edged Scott City.

Oran's Ashley Dirnberger, Sara Heisserer and Teresa Hodges each had two hits.

Misty Senciboy went the distance for the win, allowing six hits and seven walks while striking out four.

For Scott City (2-3), Becca Edmonson went 3-for-4 with four runs batted in, while Lindsey Baker went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Baker suffered the loss, going six-plus innings. She gave up nine hits and seven walks while fanning four.

Delta 14-25, Richland 0-0

ESSEX -- Delta held Richland to two hits and outscored it 39-0 over two shortened games.

In the first game, Delta's Erin Cook and Rebecca Cook each went 4-for-4. Andrea Dohogne went 3-for-4, while Rebecca Below and Laura Reiminger added two hits apiece.

Rebecca Cook got the win for Delta (5-2) in Game 1, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out nine.

In the second game, Rebecca Cook again went 4-for-4 and added four RBIs. Erin Cook went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk. Stephanie Dannenmueller went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs and Sarah Cook went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs; and Amy Wyckoff went 2-for-3 with a double.

Reiminger picked up the win, giving up one hit.

Cape Central 5, Sikeston 4

SIKESTON -- Cape Central won four of the six singles matches as it edged an experienced Sikeston squad.

The young Tiger squad, which contains several sophomores, improved to 5-2.

"This is a very big victory," said Cape Central coach Bud Craven. "We had some tight matches. I'm very proud of these guys for pulling this out."

Central's JV won 7-2 to improve to 7-0.

The Tigers will host Dexter on Tuesday
