Notre Dame's defense held visiting Sikeston to less than eight points in all four quarters -- including just two in the fourth -- and the Lady Bulldogs improved to 2-0 with a 56-20 drubbing of Sikeston Wednesday night."We played really well on defense," said Notre Dame coach Jerry Grim. "It's the best game we've played defensively all season. Sikeston is an improved team and they played hard, but we just played a good game against them."Sophomore Deana McCormick led the Lady Bulldogs with 20 points and was the only player in double figures for the Lady Bulldogs.

Candice Brown scored nine points to lead Sikeston.

St. Vincent 50, Valle of Ste. Genevieve 43STE. GENEVIEVE -- St. Vincent forward/guard Jessica Lakenan posted her second 20-point game of the year -- and the Squaws have played just three games -- with a 27-point effort Wednesday night in the second round of the Valle of Ste. Genevieve round robin tournament.

Lakenan, who scored 15 points in the first half Wednesday night, opened the season with a 23 point game and she has now put up 60 points in leading her team to a 3-0 start.

Jodi Reich led Valle with 23 points.

St. Vincent led 26-23 at halftime and 41-27 going into the fourth quarter, but Valle mounted somewhat of a comeback.

The Squaws will play Windsor tonight at 6 in the final game of the tournament.

BOYSCentral junior high teams winCape Central's ninth-grade "A" and "B" boys teams each picked up wins Wednesday night over Perryville.

Jeremiah Dukes scored 15 points as the "A" team (2-1) won 51-30.

Central's "B" team (2-0) beat Perryville 41-13, and was led by Corey Bowman's 15 points.
