Notre Dame's girls basketball team went on the road and picked up its first victory of the season in a 87-17 rout of New Madrid County Central Monday night.
Defending Class 2 state champion Notre Dame (1-3) held NMCC to four points in the first half, including zero in the first quarter.
Ashley Millham led the Bulldogs with 25 points, including seven 3-pointers.
Sommer McCauley had 16 points, Sierra Ellis added 14 and Amanda Dirnberger had 11. Notre Dame finished with 12 3-pointers.
Notre Dame coach Jerry Grim said it was nice to pick up a win, but knows there won't be many easy ones like Monday's game.
"We don't play an easy schedule," he said.
Grim said the Bulldogs are having to realize they are going to have to step up their play if they want to duplicate last year's success, but he thinks they have a chance to be a strong team.
"I think the team is coming along," he said.
