JACKSON -- In a triangular meet Wednesday at Kimbeland Country Club, Notre Dame shot a 160, Jackson a 171 and Malden a 194.

Notre Dame's John Brey, Jonathan LeGrand and Nick Spantgos each shot a meet-best 39. Cliff Seratti shot a 43.

For Jackson, Gabe Estes shot a 42 and Craig Hutson, Tom Henderson and Chris Pike each shot a 43.

Phillip Owens' 44 led Malden.

BASEBALL

Oran 3, Oak Ridge 0

OAK RIDGE -- Oran scored once in the sixth inning and twice in the seventh and beat Oak Ridge on Wednesday. Oran improved to 7-1, dropping Oak Ridge to 2-2.

Justin Wierman went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Oran, which totaled five hits. For Oak Ridge, which had three hits, Darren Hahs was 2-for-3.

Justin McAllister got the win. In seven innings, he struck out seven.

Brian Glueck struck out eight and took the loss.

Delta 11, Zalma 1

DELTA -- The Bobcats picked up their first win of the season Wednesday, ripping 15 hits in a 10-run win over Zalma.

Shawn Kinder went 2-for-2 and pitched four innings for the win as Delta's record improved to 1-4. Kinder allowed only one Zalma hit and an unearned run.

Lonnie Cook and Garret DeBrock both went 3-for-3 with home runs and Rodney Lemonds and Andrew Green both added two hits. A seven-run fourth inning put Delta ahead 10-1.

The Bobcats travel to Kelly today.

SOFTBALL

Advance 15, Dexter 4

ADVANCE -- Ashley Hitt and her Advance teammates improved to 5-1 Wednesday in a five-inning victory over Dexter.

Hitt pitched all five innings for the win, striking out seven. Emily Johnson's three hits led the Lady Hornets' 10-hit attack. Amanda Bond added two hits and three RBIs.

Advance will be back in action Saturday in Chaffee Tournament.

JUNIOR HIGH TRACK

Central teams place 2nd

Cape Central's 8th-grade boys and 8th-grade girls each placed second in a meet Tuesday.

In the boys meet, North County had 80 points, Central 68, Farmington 58 and Fredericktown 20. Central's Jordan White won both the 200 and 400 and Kevin Allen won the long jump.

In the girls meet, North County totaled 120 points, Central 76, Farmington 34, Jackson 31 and Fredericktown 30. Terra Herzberger won both the shot put and discus, Kim Pancoast won the 1600 and Sylvia Austin, Micah Conrad, Lauren Lee and Cassie Frazier teamed to win the 400 relay.
