The Notre Dame boys cross country team had three runners in the top seven to finish second Saturday at the third annual Notre Dame Invitational at Notre Dame Regional High School.
Poplar Bluff dominated the boys division, claiming the top four spots. John-Mark Lewis won the meet with a meet record 16 minutes and 24 seconds.
Greg Kanneberg, Austin Critchlow and Matt Pfau finished fifth, sixth and seventh respectively for Notre Dame.
"We were real, real pleased," Notre Dame coach Bill Davis said. "We're starting to come on."
Delta's Kevin Bartels finished ninth, Saxony Lutheran's Peter Winningham was 11th and Cody Roper of Advance finished 12th.
On the girls side, Sam Zoellner of Meadow Heights was the top area finisher in 13th. Notre Dame was led by Casey Crawford and Brooke Beussink, who finished 16th and 17th respectively. Meagan Hudson of Crystal City set the course and meet record with a time of 19:05.

Central senior Jennifer Pancoast was the first finisher in the girls varsity race at the Parkway West Invitational.
Pancoast posted a time of 18:52. Holly Shaffer finished 10th in 20:02 for the Tigers.
Rachel Schmidt led Jackson, finishing 16th.
John Kipper led Central's boys with a 14th-place finish.

Central allowed a goal four minutes into the second overtime period to fall at home.
Devon Edmonds scored the Tigers' lone goal on an assist from Aaron Hutsell on a windy day. Central dropped to 10-6.

Rockwood Summit 3, ND 1
Notre Dame lost to Rockwood Summit at home.
The teams were scoreless until the Falcons punched in two rebound goals late in the first half. Summit built a 3-0 lead before Jason Delgado scored on a penalty kick for Notre Dame (7-8).
"I think we're playing better and better," Bulldogs coach Brad Wittenborn said. "We need to convert our chances a little better, but we're creating good chances against good competition."

Jackson 3, Belleville West 0
Jackson improved its record to 7-10 with a home victory over Belleville West, Ill. Tyler Holman was the goalie in the shutout.
Tyler Sprandel, Tyler Beussink and Steven McKinney all scored goals to back up Holman's effort.
