Missouri junior pitcher Garrett Broshuis was selected Monday to the all-Big 12 baseball team, voted on by the conference's coaches. Broshuis, a graduate of Advance High School, is 10-0 on the year, becoming the first MU pitcher to record 10 wins since Tom Heckman did it in 1981.
One more victory for Broshuis would tie the school record for wins in a season. He was one of 19 players chosen to the first team and one of seven pitchers.
Senior teammate Lee Laskowski joined Broshuis on the first team. A total of eight Tigers were recognized in the voting.
Missouri (37-21-1) received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year on Monday. The Tigers are the No. 3 seed in their region and will face second-seeded Wichita State (47-14) at 2 p.m. Friday in Fayetteville, Ark. Also in the regional are LeMoyne (36-19) and top-seeded Arkansas (39-21).
