MURRAY, Ky. -- Jody Adams, associate head coach at Southern Illinois the past three seasons, was announced as Murray State's new head coach Tuesday.
She replaces Joi Felton, who resigned last month to become the new head coach at Central Florida.
During Adams' time at Southern Illinois, the Salukis went from a 3-24 overall mark and 1-17 Missouri Valley Conference record to last year's 21-11 record, the conference regular-season championship and a berth in the NIT.
She was previously an associate at Missouri-Kansas City and has been an assistant at Minnesota, Wake Forest and Auburn. She is a graduate of Tennessee, where as a point guard, she helped the Lady Vols to the 1990-91 NCAA championship.
