The Poplar Bluff Lady Mules earned their first win of the season Wednesday when they hit the road and took down North County, 4-1.
Poplar Bluff fell to Oakville and Neelyville on Friday to start the season but delivered a clutch road win to get back on the right track.
The Mules jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second and never looked back after adding a run in the third and fifth before the Lady Raiders got on the board in the bottom of the sixth.
M Eason threw seven innings and struck out five while Kennedy Zgaynor had a standout day at the plate.
The senior went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs for the Lady Mules.
A Valenzuela went 2-for-3 from the top of the lineup and added two RBIs to go with her double and single.
M King had two RBIs for the Lady Mules while E Blancett had two hits.
Poplar Bluff plays at 4:30 p.m. today when they take on the Sikeston Lady Bulldogs.
